While on my tropical dental vacation in Mexico in Sept 2019, I decided that a massage would really help out. I got a recommendation from my friends who live in Bacalar. His name is José Ramón Campo Alonso, but everyone calls him Txape (pronounced like chop-ay). This massage place is called La Casa Fantastica, and take a look, the whole house sets the mood for a relaxing experience.

Easy to Communicate
I started off by just sending a Whatsapp message to Txape and setting up a date/time. He responded quickly and was easy to schedule.

Location
At first, I was worried about finding the place because there are no exact addresses in this part of Bacalar. He explained the location was on Calle 18 between Avenida 3 & 5. It was easy to find.
The house is beautifully painted in all the rooms.
At first, I was a little confused with the massage. It was unlike most of the massages I regularly get. I believe this is because it was a therapeutic massage. The movements were more rapid and sweeping. He also used hot stones during portions of the massage which added another level of relaxation. By the end of the massage, I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep and that has never happened to me before.

At the end of the session, I learned that you can also rent a room at the massage place. The thought of staying in this relaxing house, a few feet from massage opportunities, and getting to cook in a pirate kitchen, well…. sign me up!
